Job Description

Established MEP Building Services Contractors handling projects from small works to £3-5M value schemes seek to strengthen their Gloucestershire based commercial team by the appointment of a capable M&E Quantity Surveyor


Reporting to the M&E Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of commercial & contractual activities including:

  • Vetting, processing, negotiation & exchange of main & sub- forms of contract
  • Preparation of subcontractor enquiry documentation
  • Selection of subcontractors, preparation & agreement of forms of contract and terms & conditions
  • Preparation & agreement of monthly interim applications/ valuations and audit/ maintenance of positive cash flow
  • Logging & recording of variations, processing variations and associated costs forward to production, negotiation & agreement of final account
  • Monitoring of on-site progress against agreed programmes & serving contractual notices relating to delays & disruption of contract works
  • Production & presentation of loss and/ or expense claims for prolongation/ disruption
  • Internal monitoring & making monthly payments to subcontractors
  • Assisting in the preparation of contract reviews
  • Risk registers etc for management, assessment & forecast of contract margins

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified to ideally HNC level or higher in a Building Services or Engineering discipline
  • Fully capable in all aspects of M&E Quantity Surveying; your experience gained with recognised M&E Contractors and including on projects to £2M plus M&E value
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
